The job of the School Council is to advise the principal on budget, school improvement plans, and other issues\u00a0of general interest.\u00a0The term of office is three years. Parents\/guardian members must\u00a0have a child attending Newton North High School. Members\u00a0are expected to attend\u00a0meetings on the first Monday of each month during the school year (October-June). Meetings are in the Principal’s Conference Room (room 103)\u00a0from 6:30- 8:00 p.m. or via Zoom.
The two people\u00a0who\u00a0receive\u00a0the most votes will become\u00a0members beginning in the fall of 2021. The person who\u00a0receives the third\u00a0highest number of votes will\u00a0have the opportunity to serve as an alternate. If any parent\u00a0representative member of the School Council resigns anytime during the 2021-22 school year (before his\/her term is complete), the alternate will be\u00a0offered the position and will complete the remainder of that person\u2019s term. The alternate is encouraged to attend School Council meetings but will\u00a0not be able to vote on School Council business.
