What is Celebration?
Celebration is an exciting post-prom party for seniors that gives them one last opportunity to celebrate as a class. The goal of this drug- and alcohol-free party is to keep our students safe while giving them a night they will always remember. All seniors, whether or not they attend the prom, are invited to attend Celebration free of charge. Seniors arrive at the high school and are magically transported to a Mid-Night Paris Party! Decorations for the Mid-Night Paris Party will include visions of Mid-Night Paris Party landmarks, icons and fun nightlife. Seniors will enjoy a party featuring entertainment like a DJ, a magician, caricature artists, casino, food, prizes, photo postcards, tattoo artists, karaoke, and more!
When is it?
Celebration 2024 is held at Newton North at 11:30pm – 2:30am on Friday, May 31st, 2024.
What is the purpose?
The goal of this drug- and alcohol-free party is to keep our students safe while giving them a night they will always remember. Celebration has been a tradition at Newton North for more than 20 years. (The Covid pandemic canceled Celebration in 2020 and 2021). Students, parents/guardians, and administrators agree that this safe and fun event has been an overwhelming success.
How can I help?
Preparation for Celebration is a community effort: parents/guardians of all Newton North classes work together to ensure that this tradition continues for each class as they reach their senior year. There are three ways to help; try all three:
Volunteer for/at Celebration. Join the festivities on May 31st and help set up, run the party, or clean up after the event. We need upwards of 200 volunteers on the day and night of May 31st. Recent Newton North graduates are welcome. Volunteer signup list will be distributed via email soon.
Make a donation. Celebration is a gift from the PTSO to our senior class. It is funded entirely by donations from parents/guardians, alumni, and community organizations and businesses. You can make a donation via credit card or Paypal here.
Advertise: Please consider placing an ad in Celebration communications to raise money for the event and to promote your businesses to the NNHS parent/guardian community.
